To Be Broken

The tears refuse to flow
Agonies continue to tear at my soul
Is there yet no resolve for the pain

Just for Today

What does it mean to be a WOMAN?

As I reflect on my life, I have often found myself asking question of my femininity. I ask such questions when life battles and bruises me... I have asked these questions when I look at the pains of the many women beside me.

I ask these question in the dark.... in the shadows of my mind.. Trying to find meaning amidst the nothingness that sometimes exist ...

The answers find me... It finds me in the corner... It finds me in the light... It finds me alone.

The strength I possess, that tells me for time eternity that I am woman. The meaning becomes clear..........

Silence

www.smh.com.au
We have sojourned from our corners of silence....  seen but not heard...
We have sojourned from being without a voice.....  be quiet already....
We have sojourned to the front of the crowd........  move back please...
We have sojourned to become leaders.................. too much power...

Yet why does it feel as if the clock is slowly turning back.....
Why are we being made silent....
Why do our words counts for nought
Why do we feel so powerless.....

A Woman’s Right to Choose

www.deviantart.com
Abortion... The mere mention of this word brings emotions streaming from all spectrum of life. It ignites passion. It ignites love. It ignites degrees of hatred, degrees of hostility. It brings out the best and the worst of humanity. Constantly debated, with little or no common ground to be found.

Pro-Lifers have argued "A woman should never have an abortion. It is against the bible, against God”. “It is the taking of life". Others have vehemently stated "It is not yet a life". And still others don’t care either way.  "It is not me".

This is not about religion, not about your personal views or opinions, not about what is “moral”. This is not about you.

No matter what side of the issue you hold dear, it is important that the woman be given the opportunity to make her choice. It is not for you and I to debate what is best for her... We don't live her life, we don't understand her circumstances.

A woman does not make this decision as jest, as if for fun. It comes with so much confusion, so much doubts, regrets and pain. It is never easy, never made frivolously.

Perhaps, one of the hardest, if not the most heart wrenching decision a she has to make. A choice once made, affects her life for an eternity. So let us treat her with respect for her will, her strength, her stance and for her decision.

Please don't levy your disappointments, your anger, your hatred, your opinions at her feet. Bring only love, support and an open mind. Bring a shoulder and a caring hand, outstretched with optimism. Bring your experiences... Bring your honesty.

Remember, the woman's body is her own.

Let it remain always, not just pro-life but her choice,
